Fanfics and Books

I just read 125k+ words of fanfic in the span of two days. Less even! I had sleep and school in there too (though I snuck my PSP in class, and read during my free period as well).

That's roughly a 500 page book. Which I haven't read in such a short amount of time since the Harry Potter books themselves came out. The Darkest Powers (soon to be) Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong was good, but they were only 300 pages, and I was a bit slower with those too.

Harry Potter, Cedric/Harry:
A Lack of Color by [info]tempusfugit321

If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it.

She's this girl named Briana, who rocks my world, like hardcore. She puts up with my insane anticts, she can have these moments of profoundness, she's crazy smart, she knows what to say when the world just SUCKS, and she makes my world drizzle when the brightness of the sun seems just too much to rise up to. I love her more than anyone in the world, and I wish she'd realize how awesome she is.

I've become more of a lurker on LJ, mostly just using my account to store all my favourite fanfics. *iz ashamed* I will try harder. Maybe post some bad fics? :3

I'm going on a Family Vacay for 2 weeks though, so after that. We're going down to the US! Miami for a week cruise, then over to Orlando for Disney World.

I'm pretty hyped!

Do you keep tabs on ex-boyfriends and -girlfriends over social networking sites? Do you think it's emotionally healthy or dangerous? Amusing or painful?

If I'm still friends with them, yes. I don't see any problem with it. We don't really talk as much, anyway.

Robert Frost speculated about the world ending in fire or in ice. Which do you think is likely to end us all: meteorite, global warming, nuclear weapons, zombies, or the superflu?

I'm a selfish person, and would have to say allergy elimination. I remember a couple years ago, they thought they'd soon have a cure for people with allergies. I don't know what ever happened to it.

Anaphelxic allergies suck. You have to read every flippin' label, ask anytime you go out, and answer dumbass questions. (Alright, so they aren't stupid, but see if having the same damn freaking sentence asked over and over since you could understand language doesn't piss you off a little.)

"So what happens when you eat a peanut. Do you get sick?"
No. I die. Kick the bucket. Start pushing daisies.

Albeit, it's always amusing to see their reactions after I reply with "I die."

It's the last day in office for George Bush. There's been a lot of talk in the media lately about Bush's legacy. What do you think he will be most remembered for?

What Is Your Inner Desire?

Acceptance
Acceptance
Your inner desire is acceptance. You are either a loner or have very few friends. All you truely want is to find at least one person who truely cares about and accepts you, but have so far failed to find them. Have hope though, eventually you will fulfill this desire.
How do you compare?

Today in 1893 U.S. President Benjamin Harrison declared full amnesty for Mormon polygamists. Is it the government's place to define which marriages are valid and which are not?

View 500 Answers

While I don't agree with polygamy,  I don't think it should be up to anyone but those involved directly. If those involved give their complete concent, why not? However that's usually not the case. The women in the relationship are usually forced in some way.

As the holiday season draws to a close, you might be feeling a little strapped for cash. Would you ever consider selling one of your organs (bodily organs, that is) if you really needed the money?

No, not really.

I've seen exactly how it's done, and if that's not enough to turn me away, the sevarity of the risks sure as hell is.

Teleportation. How many times have people been in situation where they'd just like to disappear? Be somewhere else? Or have time alone, but there just doesn't seem to be anywhere you can go? To be able to leave whenever you wanted to, but to be able to come back as well.

I made this for a German film by the title of 'NaPolA' or it's US title 'Before the Fall'. I saw it a couple years ago, but I found this picture while browsing around a few minutes ago, and I wanted to make an icon.

They're not gay... I think. They're supposed to be just best friends but the entire time I was watching it, the slash fangirl in me would just not shut up. Too much implications.

The holiday season happens to overlap with cold and flu season (and not just the bottle flu). When you get sick, do you go to work or school anyway, or do you stay home to avoid spreading your germs?

View 500 Answers

I don't have much of a choice for school. Usually I stay home, but because I'm moving in March and I need to finish my courses by then, I need all my hours. With work I almost always stay home.

Right now we have our annual -40*C week though, so nobody's really going anywhere, sick or healthy.

Writer's Block: Prophecy or Fallacy?

Happy birthday, Nostradamus. Many people consider the prophecies of Nostradamus to be uncannily accurate, while others remain skeptical. Do you think it's possible to predict the future?

View 500 Answers

Why not?

In my opinion, there's been too many cases where someone has predicted the future and had it come true. Although, I think that the future is uncertain, and that's why often the predictions aren't 100% accurate, or sometimes don't even come true at all. The ability to see what's coming has been around for a long time. Some humans must have developed their 6th sence better than the rest of us. Most people get a weird feeling when something isn't right. Wouldn't it make sence that some people's genetics, because of evolution, make that part of them even stronger?
